Recorded AT Rising SUN MUsic

I cover Christmas songs every year. It is a promise I made to God several years back when my dear friend woke up from a coma when he heard my Christmas song I recorded. Since then I have kept my promise. This is my first attempt to actually write an original Christmas song. I do not consider myself a singer but I wrote this from the heart and felt I should do it. In other words, it is personal. I grew up in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Christmas there was then a way of life. It was the most romantic time of the year in my opinion. I guess I am getting old. Nostalgic but that is who I am. A hopeless romantic. To all the people I love. Merry Christmas Everyone! Peace On Earth.

Plum Plum Wine Poster 2W-01.jpg

ARAWAK B AND RISING SUN MUSIC, ALONG WITH HAKUTSURU SAKE, JUST RELEASED THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “PLUM PLUM WINE” BY ARAWAK B, PRODUCED AND DIRECTED BY JOHN SEDA.

“PLUM PLUM WINE” IS A CATCHY, LAID BACK SONG WRITTEN BY RON BENT, AKA ARAWAK B, WITH MUSIC BY JOHN SEDA OF RISING SUN MUSIC.

THE GOAL OF THE SONG, WHILE ALSO TO PROMOTE HAKUTSURU SAKE, IS ALSO TO UNITE PEOPLE THROUGH ITS BORROWED INFLUENCES FROM BOTH JAMAICAN AND JAPANESE CULTURES.

A POET AND PAINTER FROM MANCHESTER, JAMAICA, ARAWAK B HAS BEEN MAKING MUSIC FOR MOST OF HIS LIFE.

JOHN SEDA, WHO DOES THE BACKING MUSIC FOR THE SONG, GREW UP IN PUERTO RICO, PLAYING AND PERFORMING GUITAR SINCE HE WAS 12 YEARS OLD.

“Met a girl from Japan, she wanted to have a good time. She said, leave all your troubles and bring the Plum Plum Wine.” - Arawak B, Plum Plum Wine.

With his nonchalant Island vibe and thoughtful nature, Arawak B is a sort of renegade when compared to today’s music scene. Abandoning worship of material and excess, his music is rooted in a deep appreciation for both life and beauty. For someone who started as a young poet and painter, born and raised in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica, he's come a long way to become the artist he is today.

Creating under no set mold of what music should be, Arawak B has carved himself out an artistic path that is akin to none before him. While working within the traditional sounds of reggae music and the general message that the genre brings to the table, his ability to convey both stories and messages in his music breaks from the norm and transcends the genre itself. Always original and a talented improviser, Arawak B never ceases to impress and inspire.

His name comes from the Arawak indian tribe, the original inhabitants of Jamaica and part of the cultural mosaic from which he is descended. For those unfamiliar with the plight of the Arawak people, they were a peaceful society with no known word for the concept of death and with highly generous hearts. Real name Ron Bent, Arawak B is also a descendant of William Bent, of the historic Bent’s Fort in Colorado. During a time of unease with the Native Americans, William Bent, a white man, married into the Cheyenne tribe by marrying Owl Woman, and worked to maintain peace and trade between the natives and the settlers.

While no one is a direct product of their ancestors, this is something Arawak B strives to accomplish with his music. Being a descendant of Arawak, African, Irish, and European cultures, Arawak B does all he can with his music to bring people together, no matter their background. He invites us all to groove and sway to his laid back stylings and forget our difference and strife.

While music is a large part of his life still, Arawak B focuses much of his time on raising his children, fishing, building, painting, and working as a general contractor. He currently operates out of Tampa, Florida and can be contacted at RonBent@Gmail.com

RISING SUN MUSIC IS HAPPY TO PRESENT THEIR 5TH INSTALLATION OF THEIR CHRISTMAS SERIES.

EVERY YEAR, JOHN SEDA (OWNER AND FOUNDER) RELEASES A CHRISTMAS SONG FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON. HEAR THIS YEAR'S HERE

THE SONG IS HIS RENDITION OF THE CLASSIC "ROCK AND ROLL CHRISTMAS" BY GEORGE THOROGOOD OF THE DESTROYERS AND ORIGINALLY PRODUCED BY MTV.

PLAYING AND PERFORMING GUITAR SINCE HE WAS TWELVE YEARS OLD IN PUERTO RICO, JOHN PLAYS ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS IN THE SONG.

COME ROCK CHRISTMAS AWAY WITH RISING SUN MUSIC AND THE MUSICAL STYLINGS OF JOHN SEDA.

"I believe in the Christmas spirit. It's not so much the word Christmas, it's more about people giving to each other and getting together and appreciating life." - John Seda.

With this song, John just wanted to make something that would make people happy, something to make you get up and dance. With rock and roll, its hard not to.

John began doing his yearly Christmas songs when he did an island version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." The tradition became significant that year when he sent the song to a friend who had recently gone into a coma. When the song was played to the friend, he woke up.

Since then, John has done a number of Christmas singles each year. Last year he did a rendition of "Carol of the Bells," and his single this year is the official Christmas song of WDBF FM.

John Seda owns and operates Rising Sun Music in Tampa, Florida. He produces music for nearly every genre and has an extensive list of credits for producing songs by both local and international artists.

"Rock and Roll Christmas" is available on all major platforms. Links below.
